After hearing incredible stories from his grandfather about mythical creatures and supernatural occurrences, precocious 10-year-old boy, Dylan Akers, becomes fascinated by unexplained phenomenon.  Imitating his favorite paranormal reality show host, Wilson Van Law: Legend Hunter, he is inspired to find evidence of their existence.

While on a camping trip deep in the forest, he encounters a mysterious being and an unlikely friendship emerges.  But Dylan isn’t the only person searching for proof.

Circus performer, Scout, a Jack Russell Terrier, escapes the tyranny of an abusive ringmaster and finds himself living on the streets of Chicago, where he meets a group of stray animals who have formed a makeshift family led by Misty, a savvy American shorthair cat. 

Before he can settle in with his new friends, a MISSING poster is dispersed throughout the neighborhood, making Scout an easy target for unscrupulous gangs who want to reap grand rewards for his safe return to the Big Top.
